Eurbridge donated a large sum to the victims of the Sichuan earthquake, while our personnel set up an action to assemble and donate clothing to those in need. We remain very conscious of our obligation that when China is good to us, we must return also to those in need.

Our CEO
Mr. Jan Van der Borght has been the representative for the port of Antwerp since 2008. He started his career in Antwerp with Van Ommeren Antwerp, which later became Vopak as director of the logistics division. During his career in Antwerp he also lectured at various institutes on a broad scope of shipping and logistics related subjects. From there he joined the Royal Burger Group as vice president until 2007, at which time he moved to Shanghai, China. He currently is acting CEO of Eurbridge China, an incubator center that was officially accredited in 2011 by the Flemish (North Belgian) government. Jan Van der Borght has been nominated as guest professor at the Shanghai Maritime University since 2012.
In 2012 he was awarded by the Shanghai Municipal government with the Silver Magnolia award and in 2014 he also received the Golden Magnolia Award in appreciation for valuable support to Shanghai’s development and contributions to friendly cooperation.
Over the past 30 years Jan Van der Borght has built up a broad experience in shipping and logistics and continues to lecture, not only at SMU, but also as lecturer for APEC (Antwerp Port Education Center). He has also undertaken a wide range of consulting assignments covering port development strategy, logistics optimization and supply chain analysis.
As port representative he is responsible for liaisons with various commercial contacts of the ports, and promotional activities for the Port of Antwerp in general.
In 2017 he became board member of Bencham, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. In April 2018, he was appointed Economic Diplomatic Advisor to the Belgian Embassy by royal decree. Since December 2018 Jan was given a green card for permanent foreign resident in China.
